Dr. Tontra Lowe is a native of Alabama and grew up in the small town of Courtland where she learned the importance of oral hygiene. She graduated with honors from Alabama A&M University, and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the active Army where her path to dentistry began. Treating Soldiers more personally was her true inspiration for attending dental school, and she currently serves in the District of Columbia Army National Guard.Dr. Lowe received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Howard University College of Dentistry. Upon graduation, she completed a general practice residency at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Lowe was voted one of "America's Top Dentists" by Consumers' Research Council of America. Dr. Lowe truly believes that a healthy mouth is the precursor to a healthy body. As such, her philosophy centers around making sure patients receive the best treatment available so they can lead longer lives without mouth disease. She understands that fear of the dentist is real, and has taken many additional hours of study in sedation dentistry to provide the most awesome, serene and comfortable environment possible.Dr. Lowe’s motto, “Change your smile…change your life!” SM, stands as a true testament of her dedication to her patients. She wants everyone to smile with confidence and without shame, and offers treatment to maintain awesome smiles for a lifetime. She gives back to the community as much as possible, and is an active volunteer at the Fauquier County Free Dental Clinic. Additionally, she has given many dental presentations to school-age children. Dr. Lowe’s top priority is to manage the entire family’s dental health and overall well-being.
