Dr. Cassandra R. Stewart is originally from Detroit, Michigan. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She then obtained her Masters of Public Health (Health Management and Policy) from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Stewart worked as a Special Education/Science teacher in a Title I school in Lithonia, Georgia for six years before attending dental school. Dr. Stewart obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee. While attending dental school, she was the recipient of various scholarships and awards including membership to Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, a prestigious and nationally recognized organization which rewards excellence in scholarship and exemplary traits of character. With a special interest in research, she has presented at various dental meetings and received recognition. She is also a published author in the Journal of Periodontology. Dr. Stewart completed her pediatric dental training at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, Florida where she served as chief resident.Away from dentistry, Dr. Stewart enjoys spending time with family and friends, sports, and traveling.
